That was quite unnecessary. Politeness works wonders where bile often
encourages retaliation. Try a nice request, if you are capable. If you
really don't want this thread in your newsgroup try editing it out of the
list.

I agree completely. It's not hard to figure out what happened here. The OP
was sent to a number of political newsgroups, along with two non-political
groups. This was almost certainly an oversight on the author's part. An
appropriate response to this post would have been a mild rebuke and an
admonition to be more careful next time. Experience indicates that
politeness is both more effective as well as more pleasant. Or to quote
Moe Howard (and therefore bringing us on-topic in at least one group),
"Why don't you watch your manners?"

My apologies to Roy, the apparant victim of a frame-up. As one can readily
verify using Google, Roy did not make the post that Bill Schenley so
scathingly attacks. All of this started with the Bill Schenley post, leading
to the inescapable conclusion that this is a clumsy attempt on Bill's part
to smear Roy. The records of several NG servers proves Roy's innocence.

So Roy does not deserve any sort of rebuke. On the other hand, Bill Schenley
deserves strong censure for what he tried to do. It is hard to see how Mr.
Schenley could reasonably expect any positive reaction to his post. Bill
apparantly lacks the intelligence to best Roy in an honest discussion, the
morals to defrain from dishonest discussions, or even the little
intellegence required to devise a ruse that would escape almost immediate
detection.
